The HIV/AIDS Prevention and Rehabilitation project by PLYC focuses on reducing the spread of HIV among high-risk populations, including injecting drug users (IDUs), female sex workers, and prisoners. With a comprehensive approach, the initiative emphasizes awareness, testing, and access to healthcare.

Over 1,567 prisoners were tested for HIV in Multan’s central jail, with counseling provided to 15,400 individuals. PLYC collaborated with UNODC and the Punjab AIDS Control Program to offer harm reduction services, voluntary counseling, and testing. Targeted interventions reached 530 female sex workers, educating them on preventive measures like condom use and early detection of sexually transmitted infections.

The program also addressed stigma by creating a supportive environment through community mobilization and partnerships. By integrating harm reduction with healthcare, the project significantly improved access to treatment and reduced HIV-related discrimination.
